Atlas Tech Solutions is seeking a proactive Network Technician to join our growing IT Infrastructure team in Austin, Texas. Responsibility
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize LAN/WAN, data center networks, Wi-Fi, and VPN services to achieve 99.9% uptime.
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from vendors including Cisco and Juniper.
- Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, and incident response using tools such as SNMP, NetFlow, and packet analyzers.
- Collaborate with IT security to enforce access control, VPN policies, and threat prevention measures.
- Document network topology, configurations, and change management activities; ensure compliance with standards.
- Lead small projects such as upgrades, site migrations, and new branch deployments; coordinate with vendors.
- Provide on-site and remote end-user support; escalate issues to tier-2/3 as needed.
Qualification
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Networking, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise networks and configuring Cisco or Juniper devices.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, WAN/LAN, and VPN technologies (IPsec/SSL).
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (eg, SolarWinds, PRTG) and packet analysis (Wireshark).
- Familiarity with wireless networking (802.11) and security best practices, ACLs, and access control.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP or CompTIA Network+) are preferred.
