Job description

PulseNet Solutions is seeking a skilled Network Technician to design, deploy, and support our clients' network infrastructure. This role combines hands-on hardware, software, and customer-focused support to ensure high availability and secure connectivity.

As a Network Technician, you will work with switching, routing, firewall devices, wireless access points, VPNs, and monitoring tools to maintain robust LAN/WAN environments. You will be instrumental in implementing scalable network solutions and ensuring performance meets SLA commitments.

Responsibility

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls) and wireless access points.
  • Troubleshoot network outages and performance issues with a methodical, customer-focused approach.
  • Monitor network health using tools (SNMP, NetFlow, and vendor platforms) and respond to alerts in a timely manner.
  • Assist with network security: implement access control lists, VPNs, and firewall rules under senior guidance.
  • Document network diagrams, configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures to maintain clear knowledge bases.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to support server, storage, and virtualization initiatives.
  • Provide on-site and remote support for clients, delivering clear communication and timely resolutions.
  • Participate in capacity planning and ongoing optimization of network resources.

Qualification

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on networking experience in enterprise or managed services environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
  • Experience with Cisco IOS or other vendor platforms; familiarity with firewall appliances is a plus.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring, ticketing systems, and remote support tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills; able to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; reliable and customer-focused.
  • Certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
