Job description

NovaCore IT Solutions is seeking a skilled Network Technician to join our growing team in Austin, TX. In this role you will install, configure, monitor, and support network infrastructure for our clients including routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, and VPN services. You will partner with IT staff and clients to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable network operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance, diagnose outages, and implement timely remediation.
  • Document network diagrams, IP addressing schemes, and change records for all sites.
  • Support VPNs, remote access, and site-to-site connections across multiple locations.
  • Assist with security hardening, firewall rules, and access control policies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on deployments, migrations, and capacity planning.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 network incident support and end user guidance.

Responsibility

Qualification

  • Associate degree in IT, Networking, or related field, or 2+ years of hands on networking experience.
  • CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Hands on experience with Cisco and or Juniper networking gear; familiarity with WLAN controllers is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to translate technical details to non technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, participate in after hours on call rotation, and pass background check.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
