Responsibility
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points in accordance with design standards.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and security using industry tools; troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
- Assist with network change management, documentation, and backup configurations for devices and policies.
- Support remote sites and VPN connectivity; optimize WAN/LAN performance and reliability.
- Enforce security best practices, access controls, and monitoring to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Security teams on projects and incident response.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, runbooks, and asset inventory; assist with lifecycle management.
Qualification
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field; or equivalent work experience (2+ years).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS or equivalent network devices; strong understanding of VLANs, IP routing, ACLs, and NAT.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
- Strong TCP/IP knowledge; familiarity with DNS, DHCP, subnetting, and IP addressing schemes.
- Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN) and firewall concepts.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work on-call or participate in after-hours maintenance windows as needed.
- Preferred: Cloud networking experience (Azure or AWS) and certifications (CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.
