Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Network Technician to join our IT operations team in Seattle. You will deploy, monitor, and support network infrastructure across campuses and remote sites. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, this is the role for you.
The ideal candidate will assist with configuring and maintaining switches, routers, wireless controllers, VPNs, and security appliances, while ensuring uptime, performance, and security standards.
Responsibility
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls) across multiple sites.
- Monitor network performance and respond to incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and work with vendors to resolve escalations.
- Assist with network upgrades, migrations, and documentation updates.
- Implement and enforce network security best practices; assist with firewall and VPN configurations.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support data center and wireless network environments.
- Maintain inventory, patch management, and change control records.
- Provide tier-2 support to internal users and on-call coverage as needed.
Qualification
- 1-3 years of hands-on network engineering or technician experience.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
- Experience with Cisco or similar vendors (IOS/NX-OS, ASA/Firepower) and basic network security concepts.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark) and basic scripting fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- A+ or Network+ certification; Cisco CCNA preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Seattle and support after-hours when required.
