Join Northwest PackTech, a leading innovator in sustainable packaging solutions. We design, test, and scale packaging for consumer products across sectors. We are seeking a results-driven Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development from concept through production.
In this role, you will partner with R&D, manufacturing, and procurement to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant packaging that protects product integrity while reducing waste. You will influence packaging strategy, lead testing, and drive continuous improvement in line with our sustainability goals.
Responsibility
- Lead packaging design and optimization for new products from concept through production launch.
- Develop cost-effective, compliant packaging solutions across consumer channels.
- Plan and execute ISTA tests and validation protocols to ensure performance and compliance.
- Collaborate with R&D, procurement, and manufacturing to integrate packaging into the supply chain.
- Manage packaging BOMs, supplier qualifications, and change control documentation.
- Champion sustainability initiatives, focusing on recyclability, recycled content, and waste reduction.
- Analyze line performance and drive continuous improvement to reduce costs and cycle times.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of packaging design/engineering experience in consumer goods or packaging industries.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials (corrugated, films, adhesives) and converting processes.
- Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks) and packaging simulation/analysis software.
- Familiarity with ISTA testing standards and regulatory considerations ( FDA/USDA for applicable products).
- Excellent project management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage suppliers, BOMs, and change control with attention to quality and timelines.
