Responsibility

  • Lead engaging walking tours across New Orleans neighborhoods (French Quarter, Garden District, Warehouse District) with energy and charisma.
  • Deliver accurate historical information, legends, architecture insights, and cultural context in an engaging storytelling style.
  • Adapt tours for diverse audiences, including families, solo travelers, school groups, and international visitors; accommodate language needs when possible.
  • Ensure guest safety, manage group flow, and enforce safety protocols and local regulations during tours.
  • Handle guest check-ins, reservations, and upsell opportunities for merchandise or premium experiences.
  • Maintain route knowledge, manage time, and coordinate with operations for smooth scheduling and contingencies.
  • Collect feedback, report incidents, and participate in ongoing training to improve service quality.

Qualification

  • 1+ year of tour guiding or customer-facing experience; background in history, archaeology, anthropology, or hospitality preferred.
  • Excellent public speaking, storytelling, and interpersonal skills with the ability to captivate audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of New Orleans history, neighborhoods, culture, music, and cuisine; willingness to continuously learn.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as Spanish or French are a strong plus.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays; flexible scheduling is a must.
  • Valid work authorization in the United States; ability to obtain any required permits or clearances.
  • First aid or CPR certification is a plus; comfort with handling minor medical situations if needed.
