Responsibility
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and daily activities to support independence and comfort.
- Conduct basic observations (vital signs like temperature, pulse, and respiration) under supervision and report findings to the nursing team.
- Provide non-clinical support, including meal assistance, hygiene, and dressing, while maintaining patient dignity.
- Help prepare and reset patient rooms, medical equipment, and supplies; ensure sterility and safety protocols are followed.
- Escort patients around facilities, respond to calls, and assist with positioning and fall prevention strategies.
- Document patient information accurately in line with hospital policies and inform the registered nurse of any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with nurses and care teams to deliver coordinated, compassionate care and patient education.
- Support family and visitor needs, providing reassurance and guidance as appropriate.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; further coursework in healthcare-related fields is a plus.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in patient care support, healthcare setting preferred.
- Basic understanding of patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork; ability to follow directions and work under supervision.
- Physical stamina to assist mobility and long shifts; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Fluent in English; Malay language skills are advantageous.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and certification as required by the role.
