Join Wise as a Payment Operations Platform Implementation Lead and help shape the future of payment experiences on the Wise Platform in Singapore. This is a pivotal role in our Platform Operations team where you will drive complex implementations that scale cross-border payments, enhance operational resilience, and deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will collaborate with product, engineering, risk, compliance, and commercial teams to translate ambitious business goals into robust technical designs, automated workflows, and reliable payment services for customers and partners across APAC.
Your mission is to lead end-to-end delivery from discovery to go-live and post-implementation support. You will own the requirements, define success metrics, coordinate with banks, payment service providers (PSPs), and fintech partners, and ensure compliance with regulatory and risk controls. As a senior player on the team, you will mentor colleagues, champion best practices in change management, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that blends program leadership with hands-on problem solving to scale Wise Platformâs payments capability in Singapore and beyond.
In this role you will champion platform reliability, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvementâdriving process optimization, automation, monitoring, and documentation. Youâll contribute to risk management, AML/KYC controls, and governance frameworks while building strong partnerships across the organization to deliver fast, secure, and compliant payment experiences.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end payment operations platform implementations for new markets, feature launches, and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, risk, compliance, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable payment workflows and technical designs.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications; ensure on-time, high-quality delivery with clear acceptance criteria.
- Architect and optimize payment flows (onboarding, settlement, reconciliation, exception handling) and ensure seamless API integrations with banks, PSPs, and fintech partners.
- Drive operational readiness, runbooks, change controls, and post-implementation support plans; implement monitoring and performance dashboards.
- Establish and enforce risk controls, AML/KYC procedures, and regulatory compliance across platforms and markets.
- Mentor cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and influence product and operational roadmaps based on data-driven insights.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience also considered.
- 7+ years of experience in payments operations, platform implementation, or fintech project delivery, preferably in APAC or Singapore.
- Proven track record delivering complex payment integrations (APIs, gateways, settlement, reconciliation) and managing multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities; PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of payment frameworks, risk controls, AML/KYC requirements, and regulatory considerations in Singapore and the region.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable presenting to executives and influencing outcomes.
- Hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment and is comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
