Job description

We are a leading energy company seeking a talented Petroleum Engineer to join our Houston office. You will drive technical excellence across drilling, reservoir engineering, and field optimization, delivering safe, cost-effective solutions that maximize production.

In this role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to scalable modeling and decision-making processes that shape our hydrocarbon projects from discovery to production.

Responsibility

  • Lead technical design and optimization of drilling programs, casing design, and well construction ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform reservoir simulations and decline curve analysis to forecast production and optimize recovery strategies.
  • Develop and review PVT analysis, material balance, and project economics to support field development plans.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and operations teams to optimize field performance.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, driving best practices in well testing, data analytics, and risk assessment.
  • Prepare technical reports, risk registers, and investment memos for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support HSSE initiatives and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Qualification

  • BS or MS in Petroleum Engineering or a related field; PE licensure preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in drilling, reservoir engineering, or field development in oil and gas.
  • Proficient with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Nexus, Petrel) and data analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of drilling operations, wellbore integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with project management, budgeting, and economic evaluation (NPV, IRR).
  • Willingness to travel to offshore/onshore sites as required and to work in Houston, TX.
  • Proactive, results-driven problem solver with strong data-driven mindset.
