Responsibility
- Accurately dispense medications according to physician orders and hospital protocols, ensuring dose accuracy, proper labeling, and patient safety.
- Review and verify prescription orders for safety, completeness, potential drug interactions, allergies, and therapy goals.
- Prepare, compound, and dispense medications per standard operating procedures, including sterile and non-sterile preparations as required.
- Manage medication inventory, storage, expiration monitoring, and coordination with suppliers to ensure adequate stock and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacotherapy and support clinical interventions.
- Counsel patients and caregivers on medication usage, expected outcomes, potential side effects, storage, and adherence strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies (DOH, FDA, licensure) and participate in pharmacovigilance and incident reporting.
- Contribute to quality improvement programs, medication safety initiatives, and continuing education activities to maintain high standards of care.
Qualification
- Licensed Pharmacist in the Philippines (PRC) with active license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Minimum 1 year of hospital or clinical pharmacy experience preferred; fresh graduates with internship are welcome to apply.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, dosage calculations, drug interactions, contraindications, and safety.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, dispensing software, and basic data analysis (Excel).
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
