Take an essential role in patient care as a Pharmacy Assistant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Singapore. In this dynamic hospital setting, you will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, preparing orders, labeling, and ensuring accurate distribution to wards and clinics, while upholding patient safety, privacy, and regulatory standards. You’ll participate in daily pharmacy operations, manage inventory, assist with stock replenishment and medication labeling, and ensure proper storage conditions. You will enter data into the pharmacy information system, verify prescriptions for accuracy, assist with billing and patient assistance programs, and help with drug recalls and safety alerts. You will collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinicians to resolve medication questions, monitor therapy, and support quality assurance initiatives, medication safety reviews, and a clean, compliant work environment. Responsibility
- Prepare, label, and dispense medications under supervision of licensed pharmacists, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Manage daily pharmacy operations, including stocking, inventory control, order processing, and stock rotation.
- Enter and verify data in the pharmacy information system and patient records to maintain accurate dosing and patient information.
- Check medication expiration dates, storage conditions, and regulatory compliance in line with SOPs.
- Assist in compounding or preparing sterile and non-sterile products following established procedures.
- Provide courteous, informative service to patients and healthcare staff, addressing medication-related questions and concerns.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve drug interactions, contraindications, and therapy clarifications.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and maintain a clean, organized, and safe dispensary environment.
Qualification
- Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Technician, or related healthcare field; relevant experience welcomed.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a patient-first mindset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and nurses.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital pharmacy software or information systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting and flexible to shift patterns when required.
