As a PKI and certificate management professional, you will play a critical role in protecting identities and data through well governed certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and trust management. You will partner with security, IAM, software engineering, and operations teams to implement certificate strategies, monitor PKI health, and respond quickly to incidents. Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain PKI infrastructure including CA, RA, and HSM components across on premise and cloud environments.
- Manage certificate lifecycle activities including issuance, renewal, revocation, and scheduling of expirations to minimize risk.
- Configure and monitor certificate policies, trust stores, and cross domain trust relationships to ensure consistent security posture.
- Implement and oversee OCSP and CRL services, certificate validation, and PKI related incident response.
- Collaborate with IAM, security operations, and application teams to enable secure digital identities and encryption across platforms.
- Automate PKI workflows and certificate management tasks using scripting and automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and internal policies; support audits and maintain thorough documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and drive process improvements in PKI governance and operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on PKI and certificate management experience with strong knowledge of PKI components such as CA, RA, OCSP, CRL, and HSM.
- Experience with certificate management tools and automation; scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Familiarity with IAM, security operations, and governance frameworks; exposure to cloud platforms is a plus.
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
- Understanding of security policies and regulatory standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST guidance.
- Proactive, detail oriented, and able to document procedures and present findings clearly.
