Responsibility
- Patrol designated neighborhoods to deter and detect criminal activity
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents across the city
- Conduct thorough investigations, interviews, and evidence gathering
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws while maintaining community trust
- Prepare comprehensive written reports and testify in court as necessary
- Engage with the community to foster positive relationships and public safety awareness
- Collaborate effectively with department personnel, government agencies, and community organizations
Qualification
- U.S. Citizen and at least 21 years of age at appointment
- High School Diploma or GED required; college credits preferred
- Valid New York State driverβs license or obtain one prior to hire
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to pass medical assessments
- Strong moral character with no felony convictions
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of background check, psychological, and drug screening
