Responsibility

  • Conduct policy research and quantitative/qualitative analysis to inform municipal decisions.
  • Develop policy options, recommendations, and impact assessments for council and executives.
  • Collaborate with departments, elected officials, and community groups; facilitate stakeholder engagement and public consultations.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance; define KPIs and reporting frameworks.
  • Prepare briefings, memos, and presentations for senior leadership and council deliberations.
  • Support budgeting and resource planning related to policy initiatives and program delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, governance standards, and ethical guidelines in all analyses.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, political science, public policy or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in public policy, government, or public affairs; municipal experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to translate data into actionable policy insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, interdepartmental collaboration, and project management.
  • Knowledge of municipal governance, budgeting processes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced public sector environment with integrity and professionalism.
