Join the City of Ottawa as a Policy Analyst in Public Administration. You will support data-driven decision making, program evaluation, and cross-department collaboration to improve citizen services.

Responsibility
- Develop and analyze public policy proposals, including cost estimates and impact assessments.
- Collaborate with municipal departments to design, monitor, and evaluate programs and services.
- Prepare briefing notes, reports, and dashboards for senior leadership and elected officials.
- Collect, organize, and analyze performance data to monitor program outcomes and efficiency.
- Engage with stakeholders, community groups, and partners to gather input and build consensus.
- Support budgeting processes by linking policy objectives with financial planning and resource allocation.
- Support policy implementation, track progress, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
- Stay informed on legislation and regulatory changes affecting public programs and compliance requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Policy Studies, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in public sector policy analysis or program evaluation.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency with data tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL).
- Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and provincial/federal policy landscape.
