Based in Chicago, IL, we are looking for a Printing Operations Specialist who thrives in fast-paced environments, champions color accuracy, and drives on-time delivery across offset and digital platforms.
In this role you will partner with prepress, production, and shipping teams to optimize workflows, manage production schedules, and ensure that every job meets stringent quality standards.
Responsibility
- Coordinate daily print production across offset and digital presses, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
- Oversee prepress workflows including color management, trapping, and proofing
- Monitor job schedules, capacity, and throughput; adjust as needed to meet deadlines
- Partner with vendors and suppliers to secure substrates, inks, and finishing services
- Implement quality control checks at key stages and document results for client transparency
- Maintain accurate job tickets, BOMs, and production reports using our ERP and RIP software
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase efficiency
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in print technology, graphic communications, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in a commercial printing environment (offset or digital)
- Strong color management skills and experience with ICC profiles
- Proficiency in prepress workflow software (Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software)
- Solid understanding of production planning, job costing, and quality control
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Detail-oriented problem solver with a track record of meeting tight deadlines
