BrightPrint Solutions is seeking a skilled Printing Press Operator to join our Portland, Oregon team. This full-time role operates offset and digital presses, ensures color accuracy, and delivers high-quality printed materials on schedule.
As a key member of our production floor, you will blend technical expertise with attention to detail to uphold our premium standards.
Responsibility
- Set up and operate offset and digital presses; load substrates, thread web paths, adjust feeds, and calibrate ink concentrations.
- Prepare job tickets, interpret specifications, and manage color using ICC profiles and color management software to achieve consistent results.
- Proof, inspect, and approve prints against client specs; communicate deviations to the production team.
- Monitor production runs, optimize press speeds, quality, and waste reduction; adjust ramp-ups and downtime strategies.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to keep presses in top condition.
- Collaborate with prepress, design, and finishing teams to ensure seamless workflow and on-time delivery.
- Maintain inventory of substrates, inks, blankets, and consumables; coordinate with purchasing to prevent stockouts.
Qualification
- 3+ years of commercial printing experience, with proficiency in offset and digital presses.
- Strong color management skills; experience with ICC profiles, calibration, and proofing workflows.
- Proficiency in prepress software and workflow tools (Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software, Esko or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specs, and production schedules; meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; basic equipment maintenance abilities.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management; ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Safety-conscious with knowledge of proper machine operation and PPE requirements; high standards for quality control.
