Responsibility
- Conduct data-driven policy analysis to inform city budgets, programs, and regulatory initiatives.
- Support development and monitoring of performance measures, dashboards, and program evaluations.
- Collaborate with agencies, stakeholders, and the public to gather input and promote transparency.
- Draft policy briefs, memos, and council communications that are clear and actionable.
- Coordinate interdepartmental projects, timelines, and resource planning.
- Assist with grant applications, funding reports, and compliance documentation.
- Provide guidance on governance, ethics, and statutory compliance relevant to municipal operations.
- Represent the department in meetings, hearings, and public forums as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Policy Analysis, Political Science, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in public sector policy, budgeting, or program evaluation.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel, data visualization, and research methods.
- Experience with legislative processes and government budgeting cycles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Stakeholder engagement and collaboration across government agencies and community groups.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and ethics governing municipal operations.
- Experience with DC government programs is a plus.
