Job description
We are seeking a results-driven Public Administration Program Manager to support the City of Washington's local government initiatives. This role leads cross-agency programs, drives policy implementation, and ensures accountability to residents and stakeholders.
As a senior member of our public administration team, you will collaborate with departments, community groups, and external partners to deliver high-impact programs on time and within budget.
Responsibility
- Lead design, planning, and delivery of citywide public programs aligned with policy priorities.
- Conduct policy analysis, program evaluation, and performance measurement to inform decision-making.
- Oversee budgets, procurement, grant administration, and financial reporting for programs.
- Coordinate with municipal agencies, partners, and communities to ensure inclusive engagement.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and governance standards across programs.
- Prepare briefs, dashboards, and data-informed recommendations for leadership and council members.
- Build and manage high-performing teams, contractors, and vendor relationships.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, political science, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in public sector or government administration.
- Strong knowledge of policy analysis, budgeting, performance management, and program delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills.
- Experience with data analytics, reporting, and using performance metrics to drive improvements.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex partnerships.
- Familiarity with procurement, grant management, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
