Join NovaForge Precision as a Quality Control Engineer in Detroit, MI. You will champion quality across the product lifecycle, develop and implement QC processes, and partner with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to reduce defects and improve yield. Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and SOPs for production lines.
- Lead in-process inspection, final testing, and first article inspections using statistical methods.
- Analyze defect reports, identify root causes using tools such as root cause analysis, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and monitor effectiveness.
- Monitor supplier quality and incoming materials; conduct supplier audits as needed.
- Prepare quality metrics and dashboards; present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with GMP/ISO standards and participate in internal and external audits.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
- 3+ years of quality control experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, inspection techniques, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with GMP/ISO 9001 standards and internal/external audits.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (MS Excel, Minitab, JMP) and QC software.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification is a plus.
