Job description
We are seeking a meticulous and results-driven Quality Control Engineer to join NovaCore Manufacturing, a leading producer of high-precision components. Based in Toronto, Canada, you will champion quality across the product lifecycle.
As a key member of our Operations team, you will ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability, partner with engineering to optimize processes, and contribute to our culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes across production lines.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using appropriate testing methods and measurement tools.
- Analyze quality data, generate reports, and establish SPC controls to monitor process capability.
- Lead root-cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Suppliers to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Support internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve yield, and enhance product quality.
- Maintain accurate QA documentation, deviations, CAPA records, inspection results, and quality metrics.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of hands-on quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM) and statistical methods (SPC, MSA).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and GMP requirements; audit experience a plus.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP).
- Quality certifications such as CQE or Six Sigma Green Belt are advantageous.
