The R&D Lead for SIL/HIL Maritime Systems Testing at Kuok Group heads the development of system‑level virtual and hybrid test environments for complex marine and offshore platforms. You will design, implement, and optimize testing strategies that validate safety‑critical components and integrated subsystems under real‑world operating conditions. This role blends advanced engineering with strategic leadership to deliver robust, scalable testing frameworks that accelerate product development while reducing risk.
As the team lead, you will collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering groups to translate customer needs into validated test cases, manage risk, and ensure compliance with applicable maritime standards. You will architect and maintain virtual environments and hardware‑in‑the‑loop setups that simulate propulsion, navigation, power, and communications subsystems. You will also champion automation, data collection, and analytics to derive actionable insights from test campaigns and to drive continuous improvement across development programs.

Responsibility
- Lead the design and execution of system‑level SIL/HIL test campaigns for complex marine and offshore platforms.
- Develop virtual and hybrid test environments to simulate real‑world operating conditions and validate integrations.
- Define test requirements, acceptance criteria, and traceability, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to optimize test coverage and risk mitigation.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks, data collection pipelines, and analytical dashboards.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, foster cross‑functional collaboration, and manage project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable maritime safety and quality standards throughout development and testing.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in R&D, systems engineering, or testing with SIL/HIL in maritime or industrial environments.
- Strong proficiency in test automation, MATLAB/Simulink, Python and C/C++, plus LabVIEW or equivalent tools.
- Hands‑on experience with virtualized testing, real‑time simulation, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop architectures.
- Knowledge of maritime safety, reliability, and regulatory standards, and ability to apply them to test plans.
- Proven leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; track record of delivering complex projects on time.
