In this role you will support and conduct laboratory activities across translational research projects aligned with SGH's clinical priorities. You will help design experiments, perform assays, maintain and calibrate core equipment, manage samples and data, and ensure rigorous adherence to biosafety and ethical guidelines. You will interact with physicians, researchers, and data specialists to refine study protocols and capture high quality results that inform patient care decisions.

Responsibility
- Plan, execute, and document laboratory experiments across translational research projects in collaboration with clinicians and scientists.
- Operate and maintain core laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration, quality control, and compliance with safety standards.
- Collect, process, and curate biological samples; manage data entry and data quality in electronic systems.
- Perform basic data analysis and assist in statistical interpretation of results using standard tools.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design study protocols, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workflows.
- Prepare technical reports, contribute to grant writing, and assist with manuscript preparation.
- Ensure strict adherence to biosafety, ethical guidelines, and hospital policies in all activities.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related field; relevant hands-on laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience with wet-lab techniques (cell culture, molecular biology, or equivalent) and sample handling.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data documentation.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel and basic programming or statistical tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time-management skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with clinicians, researchers, and support staff.
- Knowledge of biosafety practices, ethical considerations, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
