Job description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Chicago, IL. This role offers exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvements within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive accuracy in financial statements while maintaining strong internal controls.
Responsibility
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Prepare and review general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with internal teams on accounting treatments, budgets, and forecasts.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures in line with GAAP.
- Assist with external audits and prepare required schedules and responses.
- Support month-end and year-end close, including depreciation, accruals, and journal entries.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; IFRS awareness is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
