Summit Ledger Partners is hiring a Senior Accountant in New York, NY. This role focuses on accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close, and ensuring strict adherence to GAAP.
As part of a collaborative finance team, you will partner with operations, FP&A, and external auditors to deliver reliable financial statements and insights that drive strategic decisions.

Responsibility
- Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation and posting of journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and trend identification to support decision-making.
- Coordinate and support annual external audits, internal controls testing, and remediations.
- Collaborate with FP&A to assist budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Maintain and improve internal control processes to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Analyze spending and cost trends to identify efficiency opportunities and cost savings.
- Provide accurate financial information to management and cross-functional teams on a regular basis.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience; public company experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards; IFRS exposure is a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to present complex data clearly.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and internal control frameworks.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
