We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead month-end close, ensure accuracy, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive strategic insights. Location: Chicago, IL. This is a full-time, on-site role with optional hybrid arrangements.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage the monthly close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Own general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany activities.
- Support external financial reporting, including variance analysis and management reporting.
- Collaborate with FP&A to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Coordinate with auditors during annual audits and respond to information requests.
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a mix of public and private sector exposure.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel; experience with BPM tools a plus.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and integrity.
