Harborcrest Financial is seeking a results-driven Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in New York City. This role supports financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and operational decision making in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate is meticulous, collaborative, and ready to impact our business through accurate, timely financial insights.
As a key member of the accounting group, you will own complex reconciliations, assist with audit readiness, and contribute to process improvements that drive efficiency and data integrity across the organization.
Responsibility
- Lead the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analyses to explain variances.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and assist with external auditors during year-end and interim audits.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve data integrity.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with meaningful variance analysis.
- Develop and maintain documentation of accounting policies and process workflows.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or in-progress preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in professional services or corporate finance.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and strong work ethic.
