NovaLedger Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in New York City. This role offers exposure to global financial reporting, technical accounting, and process improvements, with opportunities for growth and leadership.
In this position, you will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial statements, maintain robust controls, and support the external audit process.
Responsibility
- Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Manage general ledger accounts, account reconciliations, and accurate period closing processes.
- Collaborate with FP&A to analyze variances, drive cost controls, and support forecasting activities.
- Oversee revenue recognition, contract accounting (ASC 606), and related disclosures.
- Coordinate internal and external audits; implement efficient control improvements.
- Mentor junior staff and drive process improvements in accounting policies and workflows.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public company experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, functions).
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
