PT. Kanvas Mitra Aktiva is seeking a seasoned Senior Accounting professional to support our Food & Beverage (F&B) segment, specifically the Mburger project, in Medan. This role offers a clear path to lead essential financial processes with rigor and integrity in a dynamic Indonesian market.
As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. You will drive the preparation of monthly financial statements, assist with quarterly and annual close, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting across departments. You will collaborate with internal teams to monitor budget performance, support audits, and maintain strong internal controls aligned with local regulations and IFRS-adopted practices in Indonesia.
Your responsibilities include ensuring tax compliance and accurate reporting of withholding taxes, VAT, and other statutory obligations, while continuously seeking process improvements. You should be comfortable working with ERP systems and spreadsheets, performing data analysis, trend identification, and variance explanations for management review. A proactive mindset and excellent communication skills are essential as you will frequently liaise with finance, operations, and leadership teams to provide insight and guidance.

Responsibility
- Lead day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and assist with month-end close.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, variance analysis, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain robust internal controls and support year-end audits and statutory reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, tax) to monitor budgets and improve processes.
- Support tax compliance, VAT reporting, and other Indonesian regulatory requirements.
- Utilize ERP and financial software to improve data integrity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution (required).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience; senior-level expertise preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian accounting standards and IFRS; familiarity with tax regulations and statutory reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment in Medan.
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia; good command of English is a plus.
- Professional accounting or bookkeeping certifications are a plus (e.g., CA, CPA, or equivalent).
