NovaLex Actuarial Group is actively seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Toronto team. This role focuses on pricing, reserving, and risk analytics for diverse insurance lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate complex data into strategic recommendations and robust financial insights.

Responsibility
- Lead pricing and reserving analyses for assigned lines of business, developing robust methodologies and pricing assumptions.
- Build, validate, and maintain actuarial models using R, Python, SAS, and Excel; ensure documentation and audit trails.
- Collaborate with product, finance, and underwriting teams to translate data into strategic recommendations and actionable insights.
- Prepare management reports, board-ready presentations, and regulatory submissions as required.
- Support capital modeling, solvency assessments, and risk analytics including scenario testing and IFRS 17 considerations.
- Review peer work, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and high-quality work.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; pursuing or completed actuarial exams (ASA/ACIA or FSA strongly preferred).
- 3+ years of actuarial experience in life, health, or property & casualty insurance.
- Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and actuarial software; advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to present complex results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with reserving, pricing, product development, and risk modeling; knowledge of IFRS 17 is a plus.
