We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Toronto team and help shape pricing, valuation, and risk analytics in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
At NorthBridge, you will work with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable business decisions, influence pricing strategy, and contribute to regulatory and financial reporting processes.
Responsibility
- Lead or contribute to actuarial pricing analyses across life, health, or property and casualty lines; develop and present pricing proposals.
- Perform experience analysis, reserves, and valuation work; support financial reporting and management information needs.
- Build, validate, and maintain actuarial models using Excel, R, Python, and industry software such as Prophet, MoSes, AXIS.
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, and Data Science teams to translate data into risk-based recommendations.
- Prepare client-ready reports and presentations; clearly explain assumptions, methodologies, and results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and review work of junior analysts; contribute to training and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards; contribute to model governance and documentation.
- Lead small projects or workstreams, supporting product development, pricing optimization, or M&A due diligence as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; progress toward professional designation (e.g., ASA/ACIA) or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of actuarial pricing, reserving, or valuation experience; knowledge of life, health, or P&C domains preferred.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills; advanced Excel; proficiency in R or Python; experience with actuarial software (Prophet, MoSes, AXIS, Igloo).
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities; capability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid SQL and data manipulation skills; comfort working with large datasets and data governance standards.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset; adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
