Harborcrest Actuarial Partners is seeking a talented actuarial professional to join our Boston team as a Senior Actuarial Analyst. This role focuses on building robust models that drive pricing, reserving, and risk assessment for our diverse portfolio of life and property & casualty products.

You will collaborate with underwriting, finance, and data science teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, auditable models and actionable insights. Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, experience studies, and risk assessment across product lines.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and data analytics teams to translate business needs into quantitative solutions.
  • Conduct experience studies, trend analysis, and scenario testing to inform pricing and forecasting.
  • Prepare and present actuarial analyses and reports for management, regulators, and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor model performance, perform validation, QA, and governance to ensure model risk controls.
  • Support regulatory reporting, financial forecasting, and capital adequacy analyses.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the actuarial governance framework.
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and data lineage to ensure transparency and auditability.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; progress toward ASA/ACAS or equivalent.
  • 2-6 years of actuarial experience in life, health, or P&C insurance; strong emphasis on modeling and analytics.
  • Proficiency in R and Python; strong SQL skills; experience with Excel and data visualization.
  • Experience with actuarial software (e.g., Prophet/Moses) and modern data tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, with attention to data governance and model risk management.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
