NovaGuard Actuarial Partners, a leading actuarial and risk analytics firm in New York City, invites applications for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team. The role offers exposure to pricing, reserving, IFRS 17 implementation, and data driven decision making across multiple lines of business.

As a key member of the Actuarial Practice, you will partner with Pricing, Reserving, Finance, and Data Science to deliver insights, build models, and communicate complex results to stakeholders. We value rigorous analysis, collaboration, and a client focused mindset.

Responsibility

  • Lead and execute pricing analyses for new products and rate indications, enhancing profitability and competitiveness.
  • Develop reserves and loss triangles, assist on IFRS 17 implementation and ongoing reporting.
  • Build and validate actuarial models using R and Python; ensure data quality and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including Finance, Underwriting, and Data Science to translate business goals into actionable insights.
  • Prepare actuarial reports for management, regulators, and external stakeholders with clear recommendations.
  • Communicate complex analytics to non technical audiences and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Maintain robust documentation and adhere to governance, audit, and regulatory standards.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field; professional actuarial credentials (ASA/ACAS or equivalent) preferred
  • 2+ years of actuarial experience in pricing, reserving, or analytics; internships or co op experience considered
  • Proficiency in R and Python; working knowledge of SQL; strong data manipulation and visualization skills
  • Solid understanding of IFRS 17, US GAAP reserves, and regulatory considerations
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills; ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
