Job description

NovaChem Solutions is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to join our Berlin-based laboratory team. You will lead analytical method development, validate assays, and support quality control initiatives in a fast-moving chemical R&D environment. Responsibility

  • Lead development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods (HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis) aligned with project goals.
  • Perform routine and non-routine QC testing and release of materials under GLP/GMP guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, SOPs, and electronic data capture to ensure audit readiness.
  • Interpret analytical results, generate technical reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and troubleshoot chromatographic methods, including sample preparation and calibration strategies.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and manufacturing to scale methods from bench to production.
  • Mentor junior scientists, supervise sample testing, and uphold safety and cleanliness in the lab.
  • Stay current with analytical technologies, propose process improvements, and contribute to IP-enabled innovations.

Qualification

  • Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on analytical chemistry experience in a regulated laboratory (GLP/GMP preferred).
  • Expertise in HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, spectroscopy, and method development.
  • Strong data analysis skills, proficiency in ChemDraw/Excel/ELN, and excellent scientific writing ability.
  • Solid understanding of QA/QC concepts, instrument maintenance, and calibration.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; fluent in English; German is a plus.
  • Ability to design experiments, interpret complex datasets, and present clear conclusions to stakeholders.
