Job description
NexaChem Labs seeks a Senior Analytical Chemist to lead method development and advanced materials characterization in our growing R&D facility in Boston.
In this role you will apply state of the art analytical techniques to support product development, quality control, and regulatory compliance across a range of materials science programs.
You will collaborate with cross functional teams to translate complex data into actionable insights and robust processes that accelerate innovation.
Responsibility
- Lead development and validation of analytical methods including HPLC, GC-MS and LC-MS for new materials.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis using NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis and XRD; interpret data to guide decisions.
- Design, execute and troubleshoot experiments; optimize instrument performance and throughput.
- Collaborate with R&D, QC and manufacturing to ensure data integrity and adherence to GLP and GMP standards.
- Prepare technical reports, contribute to patent disclosures, and present findings to cross functional teams.
- Maintain and calibrate analytical instrumentation; ensure safety and compliance in the lab.
- Mentor junior staff and provide training on instrumentation and best practices.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in chemistry or analytical chemistry with hands on experience in analytical method development.
- Proficiency with HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, FTIR and XRD instruments.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience with software such as MassHunter, ChemStation or Empower; familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- Knowledge of GLP and GMP environments; excellent documentation and reporting abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and time management capabilities; safety minded and detail oriented.
- Publication or patent experience is a plus.
