We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Statistician to join our growing analytics team in Cambridge. You will design and execute rigorous statistical analyses to inform product development, clinical research, and business strategy. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to translate data into actionable insights. The role demands strong methodological expertise, clear communication, and a track record of delivering analyses that influence decisions.
As a pivotal member of our team, you will own analysis plans, select appropriate methods, validate results, and ensure reproducibility across projects. You will mentor teammates and contribute to governance that elevates our statistical standards.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and analysis of experiments and observational studies to answer high-priority business and scientific questions.
- Develop and validate statistical models including linear, generalized linear, and mixed effects models; tailor methods to data constraints.
- Prepare analysis plans, code, and comprehensive documentation to ensure reproducibility and auditability.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, integrity, and effective feature engineering.
- Translate complex statistical results into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders through compelling visuals and storytelling.
- Mentor junior statisticians and contribute to statistical governance, best practices, and reproducible research standards.
- Conduct robust hypothesis testing, power analyses, and sensitivity analyses to quantify uncertainty and risk.
Qualification
- Master's or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on statistics experience in industry or academia.
- Proficiency in R and Python; experience with SAS or STATA is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling, including GLMs and mixed models.
- Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and reporting pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex methods to diverse audiences.
- Experience in regulated environments (clinical trials, pharma) is advantageous but not required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, project management, and attention to detail with a focus on quality.
