Job description
We are seeking a Senior Applied Statistician to join our growing data science team in Boston. You will design and execute predictive models, lead experimental design, and deliver actionable insights to clients across life sciences, finance, and technology sectors. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to mentor junior analysts and influence strategic initiatives.
Ideal candidates blend strong statistical theory with practical data storytelling, collaboration, and a passion for quality. You will work with large datasets, implement robust validation, and communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and analysis of experiments and observational studies to inform business and product decisions.
- Develop, validate, and deploy predictive models using R, Python, and SAS.
- Consult with stakeholders to translate research questions into statistical analysis plans.
- Ensure rigorous data quality, reproducibility, and documentation of all analyses.
- Mentor junior statisticians and provide code reviews and best-practice guidelines.
- Present findings through clear data visualizations and executive-ready reports.
Qualification
- Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of applied statistics experience in industry or consultancy.
- Strong expertise in regression modeling, hypothesis testing, experimental design, and causal inference.
- Proficiency in R and Python; experience with SAS and SQL is preferred.
- Experience analyzing complex, high-dimensional datasets and communicating results to non-technical audiences.
- Track record of delivering actionable insights and steering data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
