Horizon Analytics, a leading data science consultancy, is seeking a Senior Applied Statistics Analyst to join our Boston team. You will design and implement statistical models, validate assumptions, and translate complex results into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibility
- Lead development and validation of statistical models to answer strategic business questions across product, marketing, and operations.
- Design and analyze experiments and A/B tests; interpret results and provide actionable recommendations.
- Apply regression, time-series, multivariate, and Bayesian methods to large, business-relevant datasets.
- Collaborate with data engineers to design data pipelines and ensure data quality and reproducibility.
- Prepare clear data visualizations and executive-level reports for stakeholders.
- Document methodologies, code, and model governance to support auditability and reuse.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the growth of the analytics community within the organization.
- Translate statistical findings into strategic business insights with measurable impact.
Qualification
- Master's or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of applied statistics experience in industry or consulting.
- Strong proficiency in R and Python for statistical modeling; experience with relevant libraries and packages.
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying; ability to work with large, complex datasets.
- Deep knowledge of experimental design, hypothesis testing, regression, time-series, and causal inference methods.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, project management, and documentation skills, with a collaborative mindset.
