NovaStat Analytics is seeking a Senior Applied Statistics Analyst to join our Boston team. This role focuses on designing and executing rigorous statistical analyses to guide product development, marketing strategies, and clinical research initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate complex data into actionable insights, and contribute to our best-in-class analytic platform.
In this role, you will own end-to-end analytics projects—from data acquisition and cleaning to modeling, validation, and communication of findings to stakeholders. We value statistical rigor, curiosity, and the ability to communicate complex concepts with clarity.
Responsibility
- Lead and execute complex statistical analyses, including regression, time-series, survival, and Bayesian methods, to address business and research questions.
- Design and implement experimental plans, A/B tests, and observational studies to generate reliable evidence.
- Develop predictive models and dashboards that inform product strategy and operational decisions.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, medical, and engineering teams to translate data into actionable insights.
- Ensure reproducible analytics workflows, robust documentation, and rigorous validation of findings.
- Mentor and coach junior analysts, promoting best practices in statistical thinking and data governance.
Qualification
- Master's or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of applied statistics experience in industry or academia.
- Proficiency in R and Python; experience with SAS or STATA is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of experimental design, regression analysis, time-series, and survival analysis.
- Experience with Bayesian methods and probabilistic programming (e.g., Stan, PyMC).
- SQL proficiency and ability to extract insights from large, complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present complex results to non-technical stakeholders.
