Responsibility
- Lead planning and execution of archaeological fieldwork on multi-site projects in and around Cambridge.
- Manage survey crews, scheduling, safety practices, and logistics to ensure high-quality data collection.
- Coordinate artifact processing, cataloging, conservation, and curation in accordance with standards.
- Prepare site documentation, progress reports, and interim findings for clients, stakeholders, and the public.
- Develop and supervise post-excavation analyses, including typology, dating, and interpretive reporting.
- Engage with local communities, museums, and heritage organizations to share discoveries and foster collaboration.
- Mentor junior archaeologists, interns, and volunteers; lead training and career development initiatives.
Qualification
- Master's degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology, Classics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 5 years of field experience with demonstrated project leadership and site management.
- Solid knowledge of British archaeological legislation, ethics, and best practices; relevant safety certifications.
- Proficiency in recording methods, GIS, photogrammetry, and artifact conservation workflows.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills; ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder relationships across multi-site projects.
- Willingness to travel and work in varied field conditions; flexibility to meet project needs.
