As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and scale core services, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver robust features. You will work with modern tech stacks, including Node.js or Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP. You will own system reliability, performance, and security best practices while shipping high-impact features.

Responsibility
- Design, implement, and scale robust backend services and APIs that power customer-facing products.
- Architect and optimize data models, storage, caching strategies, and critical infrastructure using PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud services.
- Lead performance, reliability, and security initiatives with a strong focus on observability (metrics, tracing, logging).
- Mentor engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Own deployment pipelines (CI/CD), incident response, and documentation to ensure smooth operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of backend software development experience; strong proficiency in Node.js or Python.
- Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and database design (PostgreSQL, SQL/NoSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern deployment pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills; ability to work asynchronously with distributed teams.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools, infrastructure as code, and monitoring/observability tooling.
- Prior mentoring or leadership experience; comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
