NovaForge Labs is a fast-growing startup building the next generation of developer-focused tooling. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale our platform, optimize performance, and deliver value to customers.
As a member of our core engineering team, you will own critical components, collaborate with product and frontend teams, and help shape the architecture that powers our rapidly growing product.
Responsibility
- Design, build, and scale robust backend services in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Own API design, data modeling, and performance optimization for high-throughput systems.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to deliver end-to-end features.
- Implement security, reliability, observability, and incident response best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, promote code quality, reviews, and engineering discipline.
- Lead deployment to cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Instrument systems with metrics, tracing, and dashboards to drive product decisions.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of production backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js (or Python) and building scalable APIs.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and data modeling.
- Familiarity with microservices, REST/GraphQL, and modern cloud architectures (AWS/GCP).
- Experience with CI/CD, testing frameworks, monitoring, and incident response.
- Startup experience or ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
