We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Banking Compliance Analyst to join a leading financial institution in New York City. This role focuses on regulatory adherence, risk management, and the ongoing enhancement of AML/KYC programs and internal controls. You will partner with Risk, Legal, IT, and Operations to implement robust policies that safeguard customers and protect the bank’s reputation.
As part of our Compliance & Risk team, you will own critical tasks from policy interpretation to audit support, data-driven reporting, and regulatory liaison. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical capabilities, and communicates clearly across stakeholder groups.
Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and monitor banking compliance programs aligned with current laws and supervisory expectations.
- Lead AML and KYC initiatives, including customer risk assessment, screening, and enhanced due diligence.
- Collaborate with Risk, Legal, IT, and Operations to design and enforce policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Execute ongoing regulatory reporting, right-sized metrics, and dashboards for senior leadership.
- Support internal and external audits, remediation activities, and regulatory inquiries with timely, accurate responses.
- Influence process improvements through data analysis, risk assessment, and control testing.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and translate them into practical operational requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in banking compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs.
- Strong knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, GDPR/GLBA, SOX, and other applicable regulations.
- CAMS or CFA designation or similar credentials are a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL) and experience with regulatory reporting platforms.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to be onsite in New York City and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
