PulseMedia Studios is seeking a Senior Broadcast Engineer to lead the technical execution of live and on demand productions across multiple platforms. Based in New York City, this role blends hands on engineering with strategic system design to deliver world class content.
As a senior member of our engineering team, you will architect robust broadcast workflows, optimize studio and remote production setups, and collaborate with producers, editors, and IT colleagues to ensure seamless delivery across broadcast, streaming, and OTT platforms.

Responsibility
- Lead daily live broadcast operations for studio and remote productions, ensuring on air quality and uptime.
- Design, deploy, and maintain broadcast IT infrastructure including video routers, encoders, decoders, and automation systems.
- Manage IP based video transport (SMPTE 2110/2022-6, RTMP, NDI) and traditional SDI workflows.
- Oversee control room systems, tally, intercom, and monitor wall configurations for reliable production.
- Troubleshoot complex broadcast faults under tight deadlines and implement rapid recovery plans.
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and engineers to plan rehearsals, transitions, and ingest pipelines.
- Document procedures, implement redundancy strategies, and drive continuous improvement across the studio.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of broadcast engineering or live production experience in a high pressure environment.
- Strong proficiency with IP video, SMPTE 2110/2022 standards, SDI, RTMP, and NDI workflows.
- Experience with encoders/decoders, video routers, switchers, and automation systems used in live TV.
- Familiarity with newsroom or production IT systems and vendor software and hardware (Grass Valley, Imagine Communications, Ross, or similar).
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.
- On call availability and ability to respond quickly to incidents; certifications are a plus.
