PrimeWave Broadcasting Group is seeking a Senior Broadcast Engineer to join our dynamic Los Angeles studio team. You will lead the setup, maintenance, and optimization of on air systems across live television and streaming operations. This is a hands-on role for a technically minded professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and collaborates with producers, editors, and IT teams.
In this role you will oversee the integrity of master control, video routing, audio, and graphics workflows, ensuring top quality broadcast delivery and minimal downtime.
Location: on-site in Los Angeles with occasional travel to remote shoots.
Responsibility
- Oversee live broadcast operations including master control, video routing, audio, and graphics workflows.
- Manage on-air automation systems and ensure failover readiness.
- Monitor signal integrity, color, and audio levels; troubleshoot in real time to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with producers, editors, and IT teams to support schedules and content delivery.
- Lead maintenance windows, software updates, and asset management for broadcast infrastructure.
- Document procedures, create run sheets, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in a professional broadcast environment with experience in master control and live production.
- Strong knowledge of video routing, audio systems, and on-air automation; familiar with SMPTE standards.
- Hands-on experience with broadcast equipment vendors (Ross, Grass Valley, Viz Engine, EVS, etc.).
- Solid IT networking skills, IP-based workflows, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
