Responsibility

  • Lead development of novel chemical formulations and processes for high-performance materials.
  • Plan and execute experimental programs, analyze data, and optimize formulations for performance, cost, and scale.
  • Design and validate analytical methods (HPLC, GC-MS, NMR) to support product development and release.
  • Collaborate with synthesis, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to translate lab findings into scalable production.
  • Mentor and train junior chemists; enforce lab safety, documentation, and data integrity compliant with GLP/GMP where applicable.
  • Prepare technical reports, patents, and hazard analyses; present findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Stay current with literature and industry trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and new materials.

Qualification

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field; >5 years industry experience preferred.
  • Strong expertise in synthetic and analytical chemistry with proven track record in formulation development.
  • Proficiency with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR) and data analysis software.
  • Experience with process development, scale-up, and transfer to manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of GLP/GMP standards and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
