NexaChem Laboratories is seeking a results-driven Senior Chemist to join our expanding R&D team in Cambridge, MA. This pivotal role drives innovative formulations, analyzes complex materials, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions for next-generation products.
As a Senior Chemist, you will design, execute, and optimize experiments, interpret data, and communicate findings to stakeholders. You will mentor junior chemists and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibility
- Lead development of novel chemical formulations and processes for high-performance materials.
- Plan and execute experimental programs, analyze data, and optimize formulations for performance, cost, and scale.
- Design and validate analytical methods (HPLC, GC-MS, NMR) to support product development and release.
- Collaborate with synthesis, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to translate lab findings into scalable production.
- Mentor and train junior chemists; enforce lab safety, documentation, and data integrity compliant with GLP/GMP where applicable.
- Prepare technical reports, patents, and hazard analyses; present findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Stay current with literature and industry trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and new materials.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field; >5 years industry experience preferred.
- Strong expertise in synthetic and analytical chemistry with proven track record in formulation development.
- Proficiency with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR) and data analysis software.
- Experience with process development, scale-up, and transfer to manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Knowledge of GLP/GMP standards and laboratory safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
