Join NexaChem Labs, a leading innovator in pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals, as a Senior Chemist in our Boston campus. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive analytical method development and scalable synthesis within a collaborative, state-of-the-art laboratory.
In this role you will contribute to advancing our product pipeline, ensuring data integrity, and supporting regulatory and quality initiatives in a fast-paced research environment.
Responsibility
- Lead design and execution of analytical methods (HPLC, GC, NMR, LC-MS) to support product development and quality control.
- Develop scalable synthesis and purification routes; optimize reaction conditions and transfer processes to manufacturing.
- Plan, execute, and document experiments per GLP/GMP guidelines; maintain accurate, audit-ready records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Process Development, QC, QA, Formulation) to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Interpret complex data sets, generate technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain instrument performance, calibrations, and safe laboratory practices; drive continuous improvement in methods and workflows.
- Provide mentorship to junior chemists and interns, contribute to training programs, and support a culture of scientific excellence.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field; PhD preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical R&D; expertise with HPLC, GC, NMR, and LC-MS.
- Strong knowledge of GMP/GLP, QA/QC documentation, and regulatory submission processes.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (ChemDraw, Empower/OpenLAB, Python/R) and statistical methods.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to design, optimize, and troubleshoot experiments; experience with scale-up and tech transfer is a plus.
- Willingness to work on-site in Boston with some hybrid flexibility.
