Job description
NovaSec Technologies is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and scale enterprise-grade security controls across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with threat intelligence, incident response, SIEM, and zero-trust architectures, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
In this role, you’ll lead security initiatives, drive risk-based decisions, and mentor teammates to advance our security posture.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, deployment, and tuning of security controls across cloud and on-prem environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Own threat detection and incident response lifecycle, including alert triage, forensics, and post-incident reviews.
- Develop and maintain SIEM rules, dashboards, and alerts; implement monitoring for cloud workloads and containerized environments.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management.
- Implement identity and access management, MFA, and zero-trust network segmentation.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, security architecture reviews, and coordinate penetration testing with external partners.
- Mentor junior security engineers, contribute to security training, and document playbooks and runbooks.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, OSCP) preferred.
- 7+ years of hands-on information security experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), IAM, KMS, and encryption.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Elastic) and EDR solutions.
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash); experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- In-depth knowledge of network security, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills; ability to communicate risk to non-technical stakeholders.
