FortressSec Solutions is a fast-growing, market-leading cybersecurity company dedicated to protecting enterprises from evolving threats. We’re seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Seattle team and lead security initiatives across people, process, and technology. You will be empowered to shape the security roadmap, mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional security programs that protect critical assets.
Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud and on-prem environments (AWS, Azure, and hybrid stacks).
- Lead incident response, forensics, and post-incident reviews to reduce dwell time and improve containment.
- Develop threat models, risk assessments, and secure architecture patterns for new products and features.
- Automate security testing and remediation using CI/CD pipelines and security tooling (SAST/DAST, SCA, IaC).
- Manage vulnerability management program, including prioritization and tracking remediation with engineering teams.
- Collaborate with DevOps and software engineers to enforce secure SDLC and coding practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive security awareness across the organization.
- Lead governance, risk, and compliance initiatives aligned with industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001) as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and secure architecture patterns.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with SIEM (Splunk, QRadar, or similar), EDR, and threat intel tooling.
- Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and security automation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and ability to translate technical risk into business impact.
